W3C validation a ranking factor?
W3C validation a ranking factor?
Maybe, maybe not.
I keep seeing claims that your site needs to be W3C validated in order to rank more highly on Google. There is no proof that this claim is in fact true.
If you look at the first page of results for any key phrase term in Google you will find sites that fail W3C validation.
In Fact Google itself fails W3C validation so is it a ranking factor? Probably not but if it is, it probably doesn’t make much of a difference anyway.

crazed forum terrorist.
This week I got the shock of my life. I had the unfortunate experience of a crazed forum terrorist.
This person who I have never met got me thinking though.
He wrote a couple of paragraphs about me in a UK business forum and then very quickly four or five other people who I have never met joined in and made things up about me that were also untrue.
I started to look at the people’s profiles and they hadn’t filled them out, then I looked to see if the forum would remove the reference to my name and they didn’t reply.
So in other words you can say what you like in a forum, destroy a person’s reputation in front of the world and his / her family then walk away without a thought in the world.
I have spent 13 years learning my craft eighteen months building a flawless reputation. The last 12 months I have spent developing a new product that helps people and this guy has a massive effect on my business in less than 1 hour.
If anyone knows a really good lawyer who knows about this sort of thing could you put them in touch with me here please?
For the record I’m not going to do the same to him as I believe this sort of action is destructive and pointless
